Welcome to the Critical Justice blog. We are rational people, or at least some of us are, or so we hope, and I believe (hope) those who consume the articles posted on this blog will integrate new, and critical, ideas about justice.

Due to the apparent realization that our system is not economically sustainable, the U.S. justice system is undergoing great change. Much of this change follows a less punitive approach many of us have advocated for years. Could this actually be optimism after twenty years of teaching criminal justice in a system dominated by a “nothing works” mentality?
